What is LED light therapy?
LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the health of your skin. Different colours of light are used for different concerns, such as breakouts, redness and the signs of ageing. Your practitioner will recommend the light that best suits your skin.
Does it hurt, and is there any downtime?
LED light therapy is painless. Most people feel a gentle warmth, and many find it very relaxing. There is no downtime, so you can return to your normal activities straight afterwards. You will be given protective eyewear during the treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Many people choose a course of around four sessions, followed by occasional maintenance sessions if they wish. Results vary from person to person, and your practitioner will recommend a plan that suits your skin and your goals.
Who is LED light therapy suitable for?
It is suitable for most skin types, but it is not right for everyone. Please tell us if you take any medication that makes your skin sensitive to light, have a history of photosensitive epilepsy, or have any other medical conditions. We will check this with you before your first treatment.
Can LED light therapy be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often used alongside treatments such as facials, peels and micro-needling to help soothe the skin. Your practitioner will advise on the best combination and timing for you.
